Reading....now that's a great hobby! I don't know if you are an avid reader, but over the past few years my interest in reading has grown astronomically. It could have to do with the authors I enjoy, but I love to sit in a comfortable chair, coffee in hand, with an abundance of time in which there are no obligations. Last year I read about 40 books and this year I'm on my way again. Of course, COVID assisted my reading list, but I did have a devotional book to finish writing as well! You probably have your own favorite authors but I am currently reading Karen Kingsbury and Terri Blackstock. I also enjoy Susan May Warren, Dee Henderson, DiAnn Mills and Dani Pettrey along with a long list of others. I have to give credit where credit is due and tell you that my friend, Cathy, who is like a sister to me and the one I stay with when I visit with my mother in Virginia, got the reading bug when I suggested a title to her a few years back. Lucky for me, she began reading at a pace that I can't keep up with and buys the books instead of checking them out of the library! Thus, she has numerous books and loaded book shelves, and I usually return from Virginia with six or more new titles to read. Although I'm a Cinderella girl, these are not Hallmark books, but are constructed with plots that have you guessing the outcome. Several are written as series lending familiar characters in each successive book. A sign of a great author is getting a reader interested in said characters so when the final page is written it's like saying goodbye to an old friend! You can tell, I'm a reader and I love getting involved in a story more than watching redundant television shows that are limiting my interest due to content. What better way to get into reading than to forfeit TV for a good story!
Join me and let's read! If you need a few titles, I've printed some below that I'm working on currently or have just finished. Dani Pettrey - the series/Coastal Guardians, two books in the series thus far; The Killing Tide and The Crushing Depths She also wrote the Alaskan Courage series and the Chesapeake Valor Series...loved them both! DiAnn Mills - FBI: Task Force Series; When the Lion Roars - a novel Susan May Warren - too numerous to write; all her series are amazing but I loved the Christiansen Family Series and the Montana Rescue Series Terri Blackstock - also numerous series that will have you on the edge of your seat! I suggest you begin with the Cape Refuge Series and then, If I Run Series.
ps - I read a Nicholas Sparks' book over vacation my mother-in-law at with her entitled, Every Breath. It took all of two days to inhale that one; then for the journey home I read a Terri Blackstock book, Smoke Screen. Two additional great titles!
